We Are Here To Teach You

At Leesburg Music you can learn how to play several music instruments from our accomplished staff of instructors.  Guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, steel guitar, drums, keyboards, trumpet, low brass, just to name a few.  Below you’ll find our current instructors that are available.

Lesson times available throughout the week.  Guitar lessons available everyday.  Other instruments available most days. Lessons start at $80/month (some instructions are priced slightly higher) (+$15 one-time registration fee) Lesson materials available for purchase at Leesburg Music.  Phone 352-323-8889.  Family discounts available, too!

Richard Bonenfant
Richard BonenfantDrum Instructor
Dick is a long-time performer and instructor. He has played on Broadway and has studied drumming and percussion in the U.S. Navy School of Music and has his bachelor from UNLV. He is also a sought after clinician and Drum Corp instructor. We are happy to have Dick on board at Leesburg Music.
Warren Smith
Warren SmithGuitar Instructor
A long-time professional musician, Mr. Warren Smith has been the Guitar Instructor with “Music of The Heart” Music School in Wildwood, Florida for the past two years. He also does private lessons for Leesburg Music. Warren is an accomplished Jazz and classical guitar player and is the guitar player for the Ocala Jazz Society, playing with some of the best jazz musicians in the area. Mr. Smith is available for guitar lessons at the store on Saturdays.
Chris Duvall

Chris Duvall is passionate about teaching students to love playing guitar! He has been teaching guitar and bass for over 10 years at music stores in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Chris studied music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has been a professional performing musician for over 20 years. He has also served as Pastor of Performing Arts and Worship Pastor and has developed musicians for church ministry.
Lucas James
Lucas JamesGuitar / Bass Guitar Instructor
Lucas James is an energetic and passionate music instructor with a wide array of musical experience. He has studied guitar for over ten years and also plays upright bass and bass guitar. Lucas has been teaching guitar locally for the past 3 years, specializing in the basics of music theory and instrument technique on guitar and bass. His teaching style, though structured, varies based on the student. Lucas is available for guitar and bass lessons at Leesburg Music on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Al Venezio

Leesburg Music is proud to have Mr. Al Venezio as trumpet and low brass instructor. Al has been a professional musician for 40 years. He has taught private lessons for several years in Citrus and Lake Counties.
Brian Goodpaster

Brian has recently joined the Leesburg Music staff. Brian is a fine musician and instructor, specializing in all types of music. He has been playing professionally in the Villages area for the past ten years.

Mitchell Taylor
Mitchell TaylorDrums/Percussion Instructor
Born and raised a percussionist, Mitch was in middle and high school band as a percussionist and received training from some of the best instructors in the area. During high school, he started out on the bottom bass drum, and by his junior year was center snare and led the Leesburg High School drum line in tempo. Amongst his peers and students, Mitch is considered a leader because of his words of encouragement and hard-working attitude. He’s been a part of many bands since high school, and to this day plays lives shows all around central Florida. We are happy to have Mitch as drum instructor at Leesburg Music!
